Matilda International Hospital Launches a Digital Map for the Matilda Baby Community

Matilda International Hospital announces the launch of a digital map dedicated to the Matilda baby community which shows where Matilda Hospital babies are around the world. People who were born at Matilda or parents of Matilda babies can now contribute to the digital map project by emailing their photos to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The photos will also be used for making a unique Matilda mosaic art piece for display on the Maternity Department.

Calling for pictures

The Matilda Baby Map pinpoints Matilda babies’ location around the globe on a digital map and shows their pictures. The map can be viewed on the Matilda website at http://www.matilda.org/MatildaBB/en/, new photos will be added to the map as they are submitted. Photos provided for the digital map will also be displayed in a separate art project to create a Matilda mosaic when we hit around five hundred.

“Matilda has been providing medical services to patients of all nationalities for over a hundred years and we love to hear their stories when they revisit the hospital. Inspired by their journeys and their parent’s fond memories of their stay at Matilda we have created this digital map,“ said Linda Burgoyne, CEO of Matilda International Hospital.

“We started to collect pictures in mid October 2019 and have received over 280 so far. It is amazing to learn that Matilda babies now live around the world, from Asia, to Europe, North America and Australia, all united by the place where they were born. We are so excited to be able to reconnect with them and hope everyone helps spread the word, to enable the production of the Matilda mosaic.” Linda continued.

Anyone born at Matilda may take a part in these unique projects. Parents of Matilda babies are also welcome to email a photo of their Matilda baby at any age to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and share the full name, the year of birth and the location (city and country) with “Where are Matilda Babies” in the subject line. Photos should be copyright-free, not trademarked material and in landscape format with file size over 500K.

The photos collected will be added to the digital map, and will also become an important piece of the unique Matilda mosaic which will be produced and displayed in the maternity department of Matilda International Hospital.
