    As your hospital stay comes to an end, our team at Matilda International Hospital will ensure a smooth and organised discharge process.

    As part of the discharge process, leaving patient feedback is heavily recommended for improving our services and helping future patients, as well as any future visits you may have.

    Discharge Checklist

    Before you leave the hospital, it’s important to understand the discharge process and ensure all arrangements are made for your smooth transition home.

    Discharge Time

    Standard discharge time is 11:30 am.

    Discharges after 11:30 am may incur an additional charge.

    Medications & Recovery

    • Receive prescriptions and medication instructions.
    • Get a summary of your hospital stay and recovery recommendations.
    • Schedule follow-up appointments if needed.

    Account Settlement

    • Accounts must be settled before discharge or have payment arrangements guaranteed by insurance.
    • Understand more about your hospital bills and payment options here.
    • We accept EPS, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, China UnionPay), or cash in Hong Kong dollars.

    Day Case Procedures

    • Patients undergoing day case procedures under anaesthetic should be accompanied home by a friend or family member.
    • Driving is not advised after a procedure that requires an anaesthetic.

    Follow-Up Care

    Your care doesn’t end when you leave the hospital. 

    Appointments with Your Doctor or Specialist

    Regular check-ups with your doctor or specialist allow them to monitor your recovery, adjust medications, and address any complications that may arise after your discharge.

    Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Services

    For patients recovering from surgery, injury, or illness, physical therapy and rehabilitation services can help restore mobility, strength, and independence.

    Home care services, including midwives' home visits, are designed to provide personalized care and support during your recovery. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or adjusting to life with a newborn, our team is here to help you every step of the way.
