Diagnosis and treatment

Our ear, nose and throat outpatient services provide diagnosis and therapy using precision endoscopic equipment that can identify sinus infection, nasal polyps, and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Allergy

An allergy is a reaction by the immune system to something that does not bother most other people, such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, insect stings, medication or particular types of food.  If you react to an allergen by coughing, sneezing, wheezing or coming out in hives, you’re potentially allergic to it. People who have allergies often are sensitive to more than one thing.

Simple yet accurate tests can help to quickly determine what allergies may be affecting you and are available by for anyone over 6 years old. Once a substance causing the allergy is identified we can provide education and treatment plans to help individuals and families manage the allergy.

A good night’s sleep

To identify sleep issues we apply the Epworth Sleepiness Scale as a standard component of all health assessments conducted at the hospital and at our medical centre in Central.

Our sleep diagnostics include polysomnograms and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) treatment. We have comfortable overnight accommodation equipped for people who need monitoring for sleep related breathing disorders.
