Surgical Developments


To keep Matilda International Hospital (MIH) in line with worldwide surgical advances, we diligently invest in medical equipment and facilities. These tools enable specialists to use the most advanced evidence-based treatment options for patients, who may, in turn, benefit from faster recovery afforded by these sophisticated treatments.

Latest developments by MIH included the launch in 2010 of “OT5” one of the MIH’s five operating theatres (OT). OT5 was Hong Kong’s first OT to feature a blue-light environment and state-of-the-art EndoAlpha OT surgical suite system developed by Olympus of Germany.

In 2011, the second such surgical suite, OT3, opened after its redevelopment.

The purchase of Hong Kong’s first and only hana® operating table is another of MIH’S ongoing commitment to incorporate technological breakthroughs to take surgical processes to the next level.
