ADMISSION INFORMATION SHEET
HKID/PASSPORT IDENTIFICATION
- All patients must provide a valid HKID/Passport at admission to comply with legal requirements by Department of Health for safe administration of drugs and treatment.
- Patients admitted without ID will not be treated or have surgery performed at this Hospital until ID is produced.
ROOM CATEGORY - ADULTS & PAEDIATRICS
Private Room; Twin Room; Standard Room?
- All ancillary charges (e.g. drugs & consumables, laboratory tests, X-ray and procedures etc) and doctors’ fees vary according to the room category.
- All meals are excluded from the room rate and will be charged according to the food items ordered.
- The full day rate is charged for the day of admission.? There is no charge for the day of departure if check-out is before 11:30am.? After 11:30am, there will be an additional charge.?
- 48 hours notice is required to change room category following non-packaged surgery.
- Isolation rooms are allocated on written instruction from the doctor for clinical indications only.? This will result in additional accommodation charges.
- Private room can be any type of rooms with single occupancy.
- Lodger is only available for private rooms or paediatric patients.
- For Maternity patients – Should your booked room category not be available, you may choose a different available room. The published room category rate will apply.
PACKAGES
A range of packages is offered at predetermined prices to cover the most frequently performed procedures.? Packages include all nursing care, room and meal charges and treatment normally associated with the procedure as stated within the package. They do not include doctors’ fees.
Once a package has commenced, it cannot be down graded.? However, if upgraded, the entire package will be charged at the higher rate.
DOCTORS’ FEES
All doctors are private practitioners practicing independently of the hospital and its administration.? Doctors’ fees may vary from one doctor to another and usually charged according to the room category.? It is in your best interest to discuss the expected charges with your doctors ahead of time.? The hospital only collects doctors’ fees on their behalf.
FINANCIAL REGULATIONS
- A deposit of HK$20,000 is required upon admission.
- Patients hospitalized for more than one week will be billed on a weekly basis.
- An hour will be required to process billing, discharge medicine etc.? Please inform the nurse at least one hour prior to your discharge.? A late pharmacy order may lead to delay in billing for discharge.
- All accounts must be settled before discharge or payment arrangement guaranteed by insurance companies.
- Extra charges will be incurred:
- Procedures or packages extending beyond scheduled time
- Sundays and public holidays
- Unsocial hours (i.e. 7:30pm – 7:30am)
- Patients discharged during out of office hours will be required to sign a blank credit card voucher.
- Patients are responsible to announce on admission any discount privileges to avoid billing error after treatment.?
- If patients require a copy of medical notes, a fee will be charged and 5 working days is required to process from the day of payment received.
- Detailed itemized hospital prices/charges are available at Admission Office and In-patient Cashier Office.
INSURANCE
- Patients are strongly advised to check clearly with their insurance company their entitlement prior to admission as this may affect the choice of room category.
- To settle the hospital expenses directly through insurance please check with our Admission Officer whether the hospital has a direct settlement agreement with the patient’s insurer.? Patients remain responsible for any deductibles under a co-insurance plan or any non-covered amounts.
- At admission if patients cannot present the necessary documentation as required by their insurer, they will be fully responsible for payment and required to pay a deposit. If on discharge from the hospital the documentation is still not available, patients will be required to settle the hospital expenses in full and contact their insurer for reimbursement.
- The hospital reserves the right to refuse an insurance card or documentation as method of payment.
AGENCY NURSES
- Should patients’ condition require an agency nurse, the hospital can arrange on their behalf and additional charges for this service will be posted on their invoice.
- The hospital does not accept liability for any acts or omissions on the part of persons not directly employed.
