Antenatal Course

The purpose of this course is to prepare future parents for the later stages of pregnancy and on becoming a parent. The regular courses comprise six sessions of two hours each, while the “condensed” course comprises three sessions of four hours each, both 12 hours in total. The courses are conducted by a team of healthcare professionals, offering practical information, and a range of useful suggestions on pregnancy, giving birth and caring for newborns.

The course is suitable for ladies having reached at least 28 weeks of pregnancy to attend, with, or without, their partners. Nonetheless, make the booking well in advance because spaces are limited and priority will be given to ladies with bookings with Matilda International Hospital.

Classes are available in English or Japanese. Private, one-on-one antenatal classes can also be arranged on request.

There is time for discussion in each class, no question is too trivial, what may concern one lady may also concern others in the class. Participants can prepare a list of questions. If a class is missed, a makeup class (group classes only) can be available depending on the availability. Please check the schedule for a makeup class with the Health Education Department.
