Fully Integrated System Enabling Centralized Control
Matilda International Hospital is the first private hospital in Hong Kong to install a fully integrated system for the OT. Surgeons can control all medical and peripheral equipment from a central control panel, providing more freedom and improved ergonomics. All relevant patient information can be easily accessed through an interface with the hospital information system, before, during and after the procedure. Images in high definition can be managed between the operating room and lecture theatre and linked to other centres of excellence worldwide.

Glass Panels & Innovative Lighting Being the First outside Europe
The blue paneled wall creates a modern, pleasant ambience, and offers the benefits of being long lasting and easy to clean. The theatre lighting comes with a blue light setting that can give a better contrast of colours and enhanced viewing conditions for minimally invasive procedures. The striking glass panels and the blue light setting are new to Asia and have only been introduced in Europe.

LED OT Lamps Features Shadow-less Modes for Optimal Lighting
The OTuses LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting, an environmental-friendly light source, that has the advantage of generating less heat, and consuming 50% less electrical power, thus producing less carbon dioxide. With a longer life span (20,000 to 100,000 hours compared to 600 to 1,000 hours), the LED lighting can effectively minimize downtime on replacing space parts.

The LED lighting also features an innovative ¨shadow-less modes〃 and ¨adjustable colour temperature function〃 that enables optimal lighting penetration and better view of tissues.

Full Range High Definition Camera System Maximizes Clarity
OT5 is equipped with a full range of high definition cameras and monitors. A high definition camera is installed in a LED OT lamp head to complement the arthroscopic camera in the video system, giving razor-sharp images for video conferencing, teaching forums, surgery documentation/recording, tele-diagnosis and improved visibility during the procedure.

Ceiling Pendants Maximize Room Flexibility
The ceiling pendants are the longest in Hong Kong with 2,130mm action radius. Suspending the medical equipment from the ceiling keeps cables and tubes out of the way and provides more space. The surgical pendant is equipped with a detachable docking trolley, which is a pioneering design in Hong Kong, for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) equipment. That allows the surgical team to reconfigure the operating room quickly for different procedures and can share equipment between different rooms.

Advanced Medical Equipment For Musculosketal Surgery
The room is larger to facilitate the hospital development in musculoskeletal procedures which require a combination of sophisticated medical equipment. Matilda Hospital purchased a Jackson Table last year, which is the first in private hospitals in Hong Kong, and a high-powered microscope.

The Jackson Table is an operating table that gives unrestricted access to large imaging devices. It is ideal for spinal procedures which need high precision under the C-arm imaging guidance while the high-powered surgical microscope features a double laser beam auto-focus function and integrated video capturing system. It provides crystal clear images that are vital for minimally invasive surgeries.
