Things to remember

Mammograms
Ladies requiring a mammogram please:

  • do not use talc or deodorant beforehand
  • avoid during pregnancy or when your breasts are tender
  • bring previous mammogram film
  • arrange, if possible, approximately one week after menstruation as breasts tend to be softer and less tender at this time

Pap Smear
If you require a pap smear please book your assessment around day 10 to 14 of your menstrual cycle. This is around 1 week after finishing menstruation. This time frame offers the most accurate results.

Stress Test
Please bring along suitable running attire and sports shoes. Do not eat a large meal before undergoing a stress test.

Nil By Mouth
Refrain from eating after midnight and only drink water, if undergoing the following tests:

  • blood glucose
  • abdominal ultrasound
  • blood cholesterol

If you have diabetes please check with the Health Assessment Unit before fasting.
