The licensing examination and registration process

Midwives

The midwifery exam is usually held twice a year in April and October and the process can be quite lengthy due to the gathering of information. Once the midwifery board have received and processed all of your information, you will then be invited to sit one of these exams in Hong Kong. We would suggest that you start the process by the end of May for the October exam and the end of November for the April exam.
The exam format is both written and oral and examples of past exam papers and further information as well as application forms can be found on the Hong Kong Midwifery Council

When you come to Hong Kong to sit the exam we will provide two weeks free accommodation and the costs of the flights will be reimbursed to you when you pass the exam and take up a position with us. The hospital will sponsor your employment visa

Salary is dependent on experience and is equivalent to the NHS Band 7

Nurses

The Registered nurses exam is held once yearly usually in March. All documents from you must be received and processed by the Nursing Council before the end of the previous October. Therefore, we would suggest that you start the accumulation of information early. The format of the exam is both written and practical and you will be able to find examples of past exam papers and further information as well as application forms on the Hong Kong Nursing Council website
